Life in the Garden of CSULB

This semester, I’ve had a lot more time on campus. Aside from seeing so many students enjoy the Word of God, one of the most exciting things this semester has been experiencing all the amazing gifts from God that exist on the CSULB campus. Specifically, I had no idea that CSULB was filled with so many cool (and edible) plants! I felt like a farmer harvesting all the delicious and interesting fruit. God made the CSULB campus like a Garden of Eden just for me! It reminds me that when I serve God, I don’t need to worry. Life in God is never boring—but it really is an action packed, fun, and dynamic life.

Here are some pictures taken throughout this semester. Enjoy!

Tons of fragrant rosemary! I may have used some for common life cooking…
Someone harvesting a guava. The bag was for protection from the many falling ants…
This is called a Natal Plum. The plant has thorns, but the fruit is worth it!
Ginkgo tree with fruit! Note: the fruit smells like moldy cheese, but inside are delicious nuts!
This guava tree is located in one of the campus parking lots! Hidden gem!
A glimpse of fall at CSULB
This is called a Strawberry Tree. And no, it doesn’t have strawberries on it. But the fruit is delicious.
Harvesting fallen ginkgo fruit. The common life smelled like these ginkgo fruit for a week.
We asked this butterfly for Bible study. It politely declined.

Wow. Many fruits at CSULB. This post makes want to look at what fruit trees are on my campus; the evidence of God’s provision is certainly around us. ( the butterfly should have accepted the Bible study invitation. I just needed to say that’ 😄🤣)

Wow I really enjoyed this post! You need to tell me where all these spots are at. I’ll give my mom a fruit basket for Christmas 😂 jk!

God certainly has blessed us with beautiful mission fields that are also full of many resources (fruit, fast food, printers, computers, books, Bible study tables, prayer rooms). Praise God!!!

Gosh I spent years at CSULB and it never dawned on me how much abundance was there. God really does provide. And its not just physical nourishment, whenever I try and find life online I’m always parched but then when I just turn to Gods words I’m fed so well. Its really good to dwell on Gods abundance 🙂

Those GUAVAS. The squirrel knows what’s up. The girl with the plastic bag on her head too. 😉 Hope next year is a fruitful one, both for the Guava tree and for shepherds!

What a beautiful blog post! I’ve noticed something…I don’t need to hear God’s voice. His evidence is ALL around me. It’s clear God loves us so much through providing abundantly above and beyond for our every need. Just like you have a blessing of abundance on your campus, this week my dentist gave me a bucket-load of sweaters for the holiday season. Also, the pjs from the church are SO comfy and *just* what I needed. I see that God is surrounding me with blessings this Christmas.

I am so grateful for CSULB being a rich haven of abundance…and I plan on going there to continue my studies so maybe we can go exploring there together haha.

WOW! I never really took the time to appreciate my surroundings in school that God has blessed me with. Sure, I would spend time sitting near by the trees and the gardens, but I would always try to use that time to read or do something productive. I would always worry about things related to school and other responsibilities and never set enough time for myself. Now, I want to admire more about what God has created for me, such as the many squirrels that scurry along my school. I remember one squirrel in particular came very close to me and I didn’t even notice it until it touched me with its nose! I can definitely see now thanks to this post that I should enjoy my life more by appreciating the beautiful environment that God has created for me to be in (even amongst my stress)!
