Loved the first one. I spent quality time in prayer this morning and the entire day was just so much lighter.

Whoa just looked up quotes from Jonathan Edwards:

“Lord, stamp eternity on my eyeballs.”
“Resolution One: I will live for God. Resolution Two: If no one else does, I still will.”
“You contribute nothing to your salvation except the sin that made it necessary.”
“Nothing sets a Christian so much out of the devil’s reach than humility.”

Great quotes. I appreciate all of them. They ought to be remembered and repeated

I like Corrie Ten Boom’s words; I like Martin Luther King Jr.’s; I like John Boos’; I like Bao’s; I like Amira’s. Wow! All these are great! Maybe, I can add: The fear of God is wisdom. (Proverbs) Humility invites God’s presence.

If God is your partner, make your plans BIG! This is amazing, I’m struggling to have God as my partner. Here are some quotes I saved:
1. Voice of Martyr daily devotion: Commitment that is unprepared to sacrifice is merely compromise in disguise.
2. Nick Ripken: There is no resurrection without crucifixion.

I can relate to MLKs quote, very true and encouraging. I also remember “You have not started your life yet unless you have a mission to live for and die for” (this may be a paraphrase)

What a wonderful blog topic!!!

I very much admire “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.” by Jim Elliot.

One that I discover is this: The atheist’s greatest fear is that God exists; the believer’s greatest fear is that God does not exists.

I’m pretty sure God exists…

I have one to add!

“The world has yet to see what God can do with a man fully consecrated to him. By God’s help, I aim to be that man.” – DL Moody

By God’s help, I aim to be that woman!!

“Because children have abounding vitality, because they are in spirit fierce and free, therefore they want things repeated and unchanged. They always say, “Do it again”; and the grown-up person does it again until he is nearly dead. For grown-up people are not strong enough to exult in monotony. But perhaps God is strong enough to exult in monotony. It is possible that God says every morning, “Do it again” to the sun; and every evening, “Do it again” to the moon. It may not be automatic necessity that makes all daisies alike; it may be that God makes every daisy separately, but has never got tired of making them. It may be that He has the eternal appetite of infancy; for we have sinned and grown old, and our Father is younger than we.”

— G.K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy

Wow!! Really appreciate this quote, thank you. It gives such a clear picture of the delight God has in His creation – maybe it’s true that He simply never gets tired of making each daisy, or seeing the sun rise. Maybe in the same way, He never gets tired of us, but is so happy to see us every day. What a beautiful and pure person God is!

I would definitely be okay if he got tired of making snakes and spiders 😀

But in all seriousness, very profound quote. I’m reminded of Genesis 1. God’s wisdom and creativity is truly amazing!

“I marvel that whereas the ambitious dreams of my self, Caesar, and Alexander should have vanished into thin air, a Judean peasant—Jesus—should be able to stretch His hands across the centuries and control the destinies of men and nations.”

“Across a chasm of eighteen hundred years, Jesus Christ makes a demand which is beyond all others difficult to satisfy; He asks for that which a philosopher may often seek in vain at the hands of his friends, or a father of his children, or a bride of her spouse, or a man of his brother. He asks for the human heart; He will have it entirely to Himself. He demands it unconditionally; and forthwith His demand is granted.”
